ZDD Network Properties

This section guides you through the procedures for adding a z/OS server and configuring network properties. The following topics are covered:

  • Choosing a code page for the character set to be used on your local computer.

  • Setting up properties for cache files.

  • Setting up properties for notification messages.

  • Specifying the default text editor.

  • Adding and removing servers, changing properties, and mapping a server to a drive letter.

  • Selecting columns to display in File Explorer Details view.

Before You Begin

Navigating to ZDD Network Properties

The ZDD Network Properties dialog box contains the properties sheets for configuring your settings, adding servers, and so on.

You can get to the ZDD Network Properties dialog box in either of the following ways:

  • Right-click the ZDD Network icon in File Explorer and choose either ZDD Network > Settings or Properties.

  • Right-click any server item under the ZDD Network icon in File Explorer and choose ZDD Network > Settings.

Note

A default setting in the File Explorer is to not show all folders. If you do not see the ZDD Network icon, you may change this setting in either of the following ways:

  • Right-click in the open space in the left pane of File Explorer and select "Show all Folders".

  • On the View tab of the ribbon, click on the Options button, and select "Change folders and search options" from the dropdown menu. Select the View tab, and check the "Show all folders" box in the "Advanced settings" (under "Navigation pane").
