Notify Page
You have the option of receiving messages when jobs submitted from ChangeMan ZDD complete. These messages apply to jobs you submit with the Submit JCL command on the ZDD Network popup menu.
Some ChangeMan ZMF operations, such as promote and build, also send notify messages. Moreover, warning messages are sent when the server is being shut down.
Messages are written to the Notify message log. At any time, you can view the last 64 messages written to this log by launching the Notify message viewer application that is installed with ChangeMan ZDD: choose Start > Programs > ChangeMan ZDD > ZDD Messages.
You can also choose to have a message box pop up every time you receive a message.
...
From the ZDD Network Properties dialog box, select the Notify tab.
Notify page are as follows:
Field / Box | Description |
---|---|
Display message box | Check this box to have a pop-up box displayed every time you receive a message. You must also select the Add notify job step option. |
Delay | Time delay, in seconds, before a message box is displayed. The time delay allows messages to accumulate so that several messages can be displayed in a single message box. The default delay is 30 seconds. Press Reset button if you wish to restore this field back to the default value. |
Port | The port number that will be used by ChangeMan ZDD to receive notification messages from the z/OS server. You can configure the Windows firewall or other firewall software to unblock this port so that ChangeMan ZDD can receive notification messages. The default port number is a value between 4096 and 32767 that is calculated based on your Windows user ID. There is no reason to change it unless another installed software product uses the same port number. Press Reset button if you wish to restore this field back to the default value. Note: If you are using a multi-user system (such as Citrix or Windows 2003 Server, where multiple users may be logged on at the same time), then each user must have a different port number. The default port number calculation ensures that each user has a unique port number. |
Active port | Changes to the port number do not take effect until next time you log onto Windows. The Active port field shows the port number that is currently being used to listen to notifications. |
